Diversity and Inclusion in the Clinical Space

Dr. Margaret Delarese Larkins-Pettigrew works in a unique innovative clinical space where she applies best practices to address structural racism, unconscious bias, and heath equity. She creates sustainable programs addressing the lack of people of color in medicine by developing STEM high school, college and medical school students. In addition, Dr. Larkins-Pettigrew is a consultant and leader developing medical models that address community need of vulnerable populations.  

Building Sustainable Post Graduate Programs for low resourced countries and communities

Dr. Larkins-Pettigrew has successfully developed a sustainable Obstetric and Gynecology education program through her non-profit organization, WoNDOOR which has deceased maternal mortality by fifty percent since 2010. This model can be replicated in low resource communities and countries to insure excellence and quality in patient care.

Dr. Larkins-Pettigrew is an expert in caring for women living with HIV. She helps clinicians and consumer navigate reproductive health issues including menopause, cancer prevention, birth control, family planning and delivery of healthy babies
